The U.S. Space Force Honor Guard has officially unveiled a dedicated ceremonial service dress uniform, marking a major milestone in the military’s newest branch establishing its own distinct visual identity. Formally displayed at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling and debuted publicly at the Freedom 250 Grand Prix in Washington, D.C., the updated uniform incorporates distinctive light blue accents—including an outer belt, service cap band, and left-shoulder rope—overlaying the service’s tailored dark navy dress coat.
The rollout represents the culmination of an eight-month design refinement period following technical guidance issued in January. This ceremonial ensemble directly builds upon the foundational Space Force service dress uniform, which introduced a dark blue coat, upturned collar, and diagonal button layout. Following initial prototype feedback from Guardians after its 2021 unveiling, service leadership executed several functional adjustments, including improved fabric drape, redesigned collars, and fitted trousers. The new attire fully replaces the modified U.S. Air Force service dress that Guardians have utilized since the branch’s founding in December 2019.
