Who we are
Defense Signals™ is operated by Intelica Analytics (United States). Intelica Analytics is the data controller for personal data processed through defensesignals.com, our newsletters, workspace, APIs, and MCP server. Contact: privacy@defensesignals.com.
Personal data we collect and why
- Account data (name, email, password credentials, organization, role) — to create and secure your account and provide the Service. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- Subscription and entitlement data (plan, seats, status, renewal dates) — to grant the right level of access. Legal basis: contract.
- Newsletter and marketing data (email, delivery and engagement events, referral attribution) — to send briefings you requested and measure distribution. Legal basis: consent or legitimate interests.
- Usage and telemetry (pages viewed, searches, saved items, AI prompts and responses, API/MCP calls, rate-limit counters) — to operate, secure, and improve the Service. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
- Device and technical data (IP address, browser and device identifiers, push notification tokens, approximate location derived from IP) — for security, fraud prevention, abuse throttling, and notification delivery. Legal basis: legitimate interests / consent for push.
- Support and correspondence (messages you send us) — to answer you and keep records. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
We do not knowingly collect classified information, and you should not submit any to the Service.
Who we share data with
- Service providers / subprocessors — hosting and database infrastructure, email delivery and newsletter platform, analytics, AI model providers that process prompts to generate responses, and error monitoring.
- Payment processor — Stripe processes card payments, subscription billing, invoicing, and refunds on our behalf. Card details are handled by Stripe and never stored on our servers.
- Professional advisers — legal, accounting, and insurance advisers where necessary.
- Authorities — where required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
We do not sell personal data.
Retention
We keep account and subscription records for as long as your account is active and for up to seven years afterwards where needed for tax, accounting, and legal defense. Newsletter records are kept until you unsubscribe plus a suppression record to honor that choice. Usage, telemetry, and rate-limit data are retained for up to 24 months. Support correspondence is kept for up to three years. When data is no longer needed it is deleted or anonymized.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, to withdraw consent at any time, and to opt out of marketing. US state privacy laws may also give you the right to opt out of targeted advertising or profiling and to be free from discrimination for exercising your rights. If you are in the UK or EEA, you may also lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority; we respond to rights requests within one month. Email privacy@defensesignals.com to exercise any right.
International transfers
We are based in the United States and our infrastructure and subprocessors may process data in the United States and other countries. Where data is transferred from the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an applicable adequacy decision.
Security
We apply appropriate technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit, encrypted storage, row-level access controls in our database, scoped API keys, rate limiting, and least-privilege administrative access. No system is perfectly secure; report concerns to security@defensesignals.com.
Cookies and analytics
We use strictly necessary cookies and local storage for sign-in sessions, security, saved-content offline support, and preferences. We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to understand aggregate traffic. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, though sign-in will not work without the essential ones.
Children
The Service is intended for professional users and is not directed to children under 16.
