The Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC Pacific) has awarded positions on a potential seven-year, $400 million multiple-award contract vehicle to 29 commercial and defense technology providers. The vehicle—formally designated as the Cyberspace Science, Research, Engineering and Technology Integration Unrestricted Multiple Award Contract—consists of an initial five-year base performance period followed by a single two-year option. Notably, the Navy expanded the awardee pool from nine contractors on the 2019 iteration to 29 on the current contract, reflecting escalating operational demand for joint cyberspace capabilities, continuous integration, and large-scale warfighting exercise support across the Fleet.
Cyberspace operations represent the core focal point of the procurement. Awardees will compete for upcoming task orders spanning operational exercise design and construction, concept formulation, operational requirements analysis, feasibility demonstrations, and technical support. The scope of work also requires contractors to analyze and engineer operational, functional, and system requirements to establish national, theater, and force-level architecture. Throughout these efforts, the Navy requires vendor teams to apply a rigorous systems engineering framework combined with modern DevSecOps methodologies to ensure secure software and hardware development across enterprise and tactical defense networks.
